Skill Pool
A skill pool is a group of people who share a specific capability. Unlike teams, the members of a skill pool do not need to have the Specialist role. Skill pools are primarily used by project managers when they are planning a project. They can link a project task to a skill pool if this task needs to be completed by someone who has a specific expertise without already having to decide which specific individual(s) will be asked to complete the task if the project is approved.
The manager of a skill pool is able to update all fields of his/her Skill Pool record. It is not necessary for a skill pool’s manager to be a member of the skill pool.
Only a person who has the Account Administrator role of an account can maintain all skill pools of that account. Skill pools can contain up to 100 people.
The Skill Pool Fields page provides field utilization guidelines for each field of the Skill Pool form.
