Time Allocation Fields

The table below lists the fields of the Time Allocation form and provides utilization guidelines for each field.

Field Label Utilization Guideline
Name

The Name field is used to enter the name of the time allocation.

Disabled

The Disabled box is checked when the time allocation may not be related to any more organizations or time entries.

Group

The Group field is used to include the time allocation in a group.

Description

The Description field is used to specify whether the Description field should be available, and if so, whether it should be required, in the time entries to which the Time Allocation is related.

Service

The Service field is used to specify if a person who spent on the time allocation needs to select a service, and if this is the case, whether this person may only select from the services linked to the time allocation or is allowed to select any service.

Services

The Services table field is used to select the services that can be selected in a time entry that is linked to the time allocation. If only one service is related to the time allocation, then this service is automatically selected after someone has selected the time allocation for a time entry.

Customer

The Customer field is used to specify if a person who spent on the time allocation needs to select a customer organization, and if this is the case, whether this person may only select from the customer organizations linked to the time allocation or is allowed to select any customer organization.

Customers

The Customers table field is used to select the customer organizations that can be selected in a time entry that is linked to the time allocation. If only one customer organization is related to the time allocation, then this customer organization is automatically selected after someone has selected the time allocation for a time entry.

Default effort class

The Default effort class field is used to select one of the effort classes that is related to the timesheet settings of the organization to which the person, who is selecting a value in this field, belongs. When a default effort class is selected in the time allocation, this effort class will be selected by default in the Effort class field of a time entry after the time allocation is selected in it, provided that the person who is registering or updating the time entry belongs to an organization that makes use of a timesheet settings that includes this effort class.
