OAuth Application

An OAuth application is registered in 4me when an external application needs to be able to interact securely with 4me using the OAuth 2.0 protocol. The OAuth 2.0 protocol makes it possible for external applications to request authorization to add, update and retrieve 4me data without requiring a 4me user’s password.

Applications can make use of the OAuth 2.0 Authorization Code Grant when a user of the application needs to grant the application some of the access rights that the user has to 4me. Applications that need to interact with 4me without the involvement of a user can make use of the OAuth Client Credentials Grant.

Each registered application is assigned a unique client ID, as well a client secret that should not be shared.

Only people who have the Directory Administrator role or the Account Administrator role of an account can maintain the OAuth applications of that account.

The OAuth Application Fields page provides field utilization guidelines for each field of the Oauth Application form.
